Introducing Our New
Chapter Counselor

It is with great excitement that we announce that Derrick T. Smith, Class of 2007, will be stepping into the role of Chapter Councilor.

Derrick joined NH Alpha in 2004 and was a member of the Dartmouth Aires, The Dartmouth Harlequins, The Green Key Society and a number of other organizations. After Dartmouth, Derrick moved back to his native New York City where he was a real estate broker for four years after trying his hand in project management and  coaching his high school water polo team. Derrick currently resides in Hanover, NH and is the Assistant Director of Young Alumni and Student Programs in the Office of Alumni Relations. In this role he directly manages the 11 youngest alumni classes, young alumni events nationally, as well as creates programming on Dartmouth’s campus that focus on student and alumni interaction.

Involved in various volunteer organizations, Derrick is excited to share his dynamic personality and boundless energy with the New Hampshire Alpha Chapter House. "Though I never held an office as an undergrad, I have always held a sweet spot for SigEp in my heart," Derrick said. "Many of my closest friends I met from being involved with SigEp, and I hope to share these types of close personal bonds with the rest of the AVC board." Herb Philpott adds, "The AVC is excited to add Derrick as the new Chapter Counselor. His unlimited enthusiasm for Dartmouth and SigEp will add a new dimension to the relationship between undergraduate and alumni Brothers."

Derrick officially started in post in February (or we can lie and say March to make it seem more current.) and is currently working on planning an officer transition retreat as well as helping the new 2013-2014 house officers establish their goals for the year.
